Due to continued growth and exciting development plans in the HV sector, our Client have the opportunity for a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) to join their team at Swindon covering the Central Region.

Your role will be to plan, design, organise, control and monitor all types of construction and maintenance work on LV/HV networks up to 11kV and associated plant and equipment, including complex design, commissioning and fault diagnosis in accordance with safety and customer requirements, ensuring that all works are completed to time and budget.

As a Senior Authorised Person, you'll be passionate about safety and will promote this throughout your team and to all contractors on site, comfortably challenging any unsafe behaviours or attitudes. You'll have strong communication skills, with the ability to deliver technical training and advice to less-experienced colleagues. You'll also use your people-management skills to effectively achieve results from your team of direct and indirect labour, as well as contractors.

Finally, you'll also develop relationships with potential customers in order to secure profitable HV contracting business.

Skills/ Experience:

  • Experienced SAP on HV systems, ideally with DNO Operational Authorisation to 11kV OHL & UG with Sanction for Test
  • Knowledge of a wide range of High Voltage plant and equipment.
  • Familiar with private HV and Distribution Networks, combined with a good working knowledge of High Voltage Protection Relays, Telecontrol Systems, wiring and schematic diagrams.
  • Proven track record in the electrical contracting industry either as an Engineer or as a Contracts Supervisor with supervisory experience in a practical environment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum HNC qualification (or equivalent experience) in Electrical Engineering
  • IOSH (Institution of Safety and Health) Managing Safely certificate (or equivalent experience).

A full UK driving licence is also essential to enable to cover the network area.
