Job description

We have a current opportunity for a Senior Accountant on a contract basis. The position will be based in Muscat. For further information about this position please apply.

Qualification
Diploma Degree with 10+ years of relevant experience OR Bachelor’s Degree with 8+ years of relevant experience.
ACA / CPA / ACCA
Relevant years of experience in a similar position in accounting related fields preferably within the Power industry or other similar manufacturing industry or Big 4 accounting firms.

Accountabilities
• Financial Reporting and Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial reports, statutory accounts, and compliance with IFRS, tax regulations, and loan agreements.
• Budgeting and Cost Monitoring: Oversee budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis to ensure alignment with project budgets and cost control.
• Audit and Stakeholder Coordination: Manage audits, respond to inquiries from stakeholders, and maintain effective communication with shareholders and banks.
• Team Supervision and Policy Implementation: Lead the accounting team, enforce financial policies, and ensure efficient execution of accounting and treasury activities.
• To ensure all day-to-day general ledger activities of the companies are performed in a timely and efficient manner.
• Prepare / review the monthly account reconciliations to ensure the completeness of the management accounts.
• Maintain on a monthly basis the Management Accounts of the companies for distribution to the Shareholders.
• To provide treasury forecasts in order to produce the companies’ cash calls to the Banks and Shareholders
• Build up and maintain the companies’ fixed assets register.
• Ensure all payroll activities are conducted accurately and in a timely manner in conjunction with the HR department.
• Management of the day-to-day treasury in accordance with policies, procedures and standards
• Ensure the monthly, quarterly and yearly covenants compliance in accordance with the Loan Agreements
