POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE:SDC Subsea Commissioning Engineer – Pipeline Isolation & Intervention
KEY ROLE SUMMARY
The Shah Deniz Compression (SDC) Project will build a new electric Normally Unattended Installation (eNUI) platform, controlled remotely from shore. The platform will provide electrically driven compression to support additional gas production from the Shah Deniz field. The SDC Project will install new pipelines, spools and manifolds that will be integrated with the existing Shah Deniz pipeline network through subsea tie-ins. Complex brownfield activities across the existing Shah Deniz Alpha (SDA) and Shah Deniz Bravo (SDB) facilities and associated subsea infrastructure will be required to facilitate the subsea pipeline tie-ins and their safe integration with the existing operating export pipeline systems.
The SDC Subsea Commissioning Engineer – Pipeline Isolation & Intervention is a key member of the SDC Subsea Commissioning Team, reporting to the SDC Subsea Commissioning Lead.
The primary responsibility of the role is to manage and provide Company oversight of the engineering, qualification, testing, execution readiness of the SDC isolation-tool contingency solution, comprising the Remote Tecno Plug (RTP), Leak Test Plug (LTP) and associated communications, tracking and support systems, including its deployment and recovery should the contingency be required. The role will act as the principal bp technical and delivery interface with the isolation-tool contractor and coordinate input from Engineering, Operations, Brownfield, Construction, Commissioning and other project stakeholders to ensure the safe and successful delivery and execution readiness of the scope.
The role will be primarily based in Baku; however, significant periods of assignment in Aberdeen, Scotland will be required during the engineering, qualification and Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) phases to work closely with the contractor's engineering, manufacturing and testing teams. During execution, the role will be predominantly Baku-based, supporting mobilisation, brownfield integration and offshore delivery of the isolation tool scope.
The role requires a strong technical foundation in pipeline or subsea commissioning, proven contractor-management capability and relevant experience of pipeline isolation, in-line isolation tools, specialist pigging or comparable pipeline intervention scopes within offshore and/or brownfield operating environments. The successful candidate must be capable of managing the isolation-tool scope from engineering and qualification through to execution readiness and offshore deployment, if required.
