We have a current opportunity for a SCM Specialist on a contract basis with a leading engineering company. The position will be based in Oslo or Bergen.

The Opportunity
As a Project Supply Chain Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the success of projects by leading the end-to-end supply chain management process—from tender stage through project completion. Working closely with Sales and Project teams, you will identify, qualify, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the most competitive, cost-effective, and reliable solutions.
You will be engaged in projects of diverse size, scope, and technology, with a strong focus on power systems, high voltage transmission, and substations. Your ability to manage supplier performance, mitigate risks, and drive cost optimisation will directly impact project success and customer satisfaction.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Lead project-specific sourcing strategies, from planning to execution, ensuring on-time delivery and budget adherence.
  • Define and enforce Project Procurement Rules in line with company policies and customer requirements.
  • Establish, update, and maintain the Project Procurement Plan throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • Manage order placement, expediting, and logistics to secure timely execution and seamless integration with project schedules.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers while proactively managing risks and ensuring compliance.
  • Oversee Supplier Quality Management, including issue resolution, claims, and performance evaluation.
  • Monitor cost drivers, identify savings opportunities, and implement cost reduction initiatives to improve project profitability.
  • Provide clear reporting and forecasting on project procurement performance to stakeholders.
Your Background
  • Solid experience in project-based supply chain execution, ideally in complex engineering projects.
  • Strong technical, contractual, and commercial understanding with the ability to evaluate and negotiate supplier proposals.
  • A technical or commercial degree (or equivalent relevant experience).
  • Proven track record in project execution with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities.
  • Experience in high voltage transmission or substations is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with supplier development, contract management, and international procurement practices.
  • A proactive and solution-oriented mindset with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
