Orion Group and our largest US client are in immediate need of a Scientist in North Chicago, IL!!! We are seeking candidates with prior experience analyzing Biological Mass Spectrometry data with a fundamental knowledge of Protein characterization.

Scientist Responsibilities:
- The scientist will conduct analytical experiments to support structural characterization and identification of biological macromolecules using liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry.
- The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining the Protein Open-Access LC/MS platform and collaborating on mass spectrometry-based protein characterization efforts and biological assay development.
- The selected candidate should have familiarity with liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry instrumentation.
- Perform sample preparation.
- Knowledge of laboratory automation is desired but not required.
- The scientist will be expected to consistently work on multiple projects in parallel and be able to adjust to rapidly changing priorities.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, must be an outstanding team player and possess excellent communication skills.
- S or M.S. in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, or other physical sciences.
- Familiarity with liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry instrumentation.
- Mass spectrometry data interpretation.
- Fundamental knowledge with protein structure/characterization.
- Experience with molecular wave confirmation is a plus.
