About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Scaffold and Work-at-Height Specialist to join a major LNG project in Afungi. In this role, you will provide field support across project sites to ensure full compliance with Project working-at-height and scaffolding standards, driving a culture of zero incidents and continuous improvement.
You will work closely with HSE, Contractors and Subcontractors to ensure scaffolding operations, temporary structures and rope access activities are carried out safely and in line with international standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the erection, inspection and dismantling of scaffolding in accordance with Project standards and international norms (EN 12811, OSHA).
  • Oversee rope access activities when required.
  • Lead by example in promoting Project Golden Rules, STOP Card/Stop Work Authority and HSE best practices.
  • Conduct awareness sessions and provide guidance on work-at-height risk prevention.
  • Foster strong cooperation and “One HSE Team” ethos with contractor and subcontractor teams.
  • Verify that all temporary structures comply with engineering and HSE requirements.
  • Perform daily scaffold inspections and complete documentation using Project systems.
  • Train and raise awareness within the project team on safe scaffolding and full-body harness use.
  • Participate in JSA preparation related to work at height.
  • Support incident investigations, Management of Change processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote environmental protection aligned with the project's environmental policy.
  • Ensure clear and structured written handovers during rotation.
Environment & Team
  • Multicultural project team spread across Paris, Milan, London and Mozambique.
  • Daily interaction with multidisciplinary Contractor and Subcontractor HSE and scaffold teams.
Accountabilities
  • Achieving zero scaffolding and work-at-height incidents.
  • Ensuring compliance with project standards and contractual obligations.
  • Promotion of TotalEnergies safety culture, including effective use of STOP cards.
  • Ensuring all work is carried out safely and with environmental integrity.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Technical diploma or CISRS (or equivalent) scaffolding certification.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience supervising scaffolding activities on industrial projects.
  • Experience with Layer scaffold – highly desirable.
  • IRATA Level 3 – an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE standards and PTW systems.
  • Proficient in MS Office and SharePoint.
  • Fluent in English; Portuguese is a plus.
