Sample / Material Logistics Coordinator
$28 - $32/hr with medical benefits available at a cost
1 year initial contract with possibility of extension
100% onsite in Madison, WI
M-F 9 am to 5 pm shift

Orion Project Services and our largest US client are teaming up for an exciting contract opportunity for Sample / Material Logistics Coordinator local to Madison, WI! Our client is seeking candidates with prior sample coordination and biotech industry experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Shipping: Coordinate and execute shipments of primarily non-hazardous research materials, including temperature-controlled items, e.g. peptides, proteins, monomers, to internal & other approved sites following IATA/DOT and external practices/procedures.
  • Documentation: Prepare, review and process shipping documentation, e.g. BOL, packing lists and US Custom forms.
  • Receiving: Receive, catalog, and store chemical compounds (e.g. peptides and amino acids / monomers) received from other internal locations and suppliers in laboratory freezers.
  • Inventory Support: Onsite material inventory management, including assist with compound counts and maintaining accurate, organized records.
  • Manage Incoming Receiving Area
  • Receive delivered goods, process “Goods Receipt”, and distribute incoming material to labs and designated areas.
Qualifications & Education:
  • Bachelors degree with 2- 5 years of experience working in Biotech laboratories.
  • 2 - 5 years of managing shipping logistics experience, preferably in a biotech environment (proteins, peptides, etc…) at a large multi-national corporation.
  • Familiarity with IATA / DOT practices and procedures is a plus
  • Five (5) years of inventory management experience, preferably in a biotech environment (proteins, peptides, etc…) at a large multi-national corporation.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills are essential, as is attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and execute job requirements with minimal direction is desired.
  • Ability to routinely lift / push up to twenty-five (25) pounds
