We have a current opportunity for a Ruya WHP Electrical Lead on a contract basis. The position will be based in Doha/China (Offshore / Onshore). For further information about this position please apply.
Ruya WHP Electrical Lead
Contract Duration: 1st February 2026 – 31st August 2027
Work location: Doha/China(Offshore / Onshore)
Work Schedule: 8-10 hours per day from Sunday to Thursday onshore/12 hrs 7 days offshore.
Minimum Requirements
Qualification: Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree or equivalent in engineering,
Experience: At least 10 years’ experience in the offshore oil & gas industry with minimum 5 years’ experience in a lead Commissioning role,
Strong knowledge of electrical systems including switchgear, transformers, MCCs, UPS, lighting, and grounding.
Knowledge of industry standards (IEC, NEC, ATEX, etc.).
Experienced with NOC Standards (Total General Specifications) , OPERCOM and ICAPS, PRODOM/MANASA DCC Database and relevant codes and standards,
H2S OPITO and T-BOSIET trainings.
EPCIC PREPARATION PHASE
Ensure proper implementation of all pre-commissioning / commissioning disciplines
Ensure ICAPS data base population
Maximize onshore commissioning and minimize lost time due to interfaces.
Ensure that the Electrical pre-commissioning and commissioning spare parts, consumables equipment, special tools, etc are sufficient and available in time
Ensure ICSS/ Instrumentation equipment preservation strategy and procedure
EPCIC COMMISSIONING EXECUTION PHASE
Follow the contractor ’s Electrical commissioning activities using the OPERCOM® Methodology and ICAPS© (Integrated Commissioning And Progress System) software.
Follow the execution of Electrical commissioning activities to achieve commissioning schedule completion target.
Lead the execution of electrical pre-commissioning and commissioning activities including loop checks, insulation resistance tests, functional testing, and energization.
Ensure all electrical systems (LV/MV/HV) are commissioned in compliance with project specifications and international standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE).
Supervise energization of electrical systems ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed.
Ensure Electrical status and reporting and maintain accurate records of commissioning progress and issues.
Participate in risk assessments and method statement reviews.
Lead electrical safety awareness and toolbox talks.
