We are seeking a highly skilled Risk and Change Management Specialist to join one of our major global energy clients in the Edmonton, AB area on a long contract opportunity. This role will play a critical part in integrating qualitative risk assessment methodologies with structured change management practices, ensuring informed decision-making while enabling the successful adoption of business and operational changes.
As a bridge between project teams, leadership, and stakeholders, you will drive risk-informed strategies and guide change management initiatives that strengthen resilience across the organization.

Key Responsibilities include:
Risk Management
- Lead qualitative risk assessments across strategic, operational, and project domains.
- Facilitate risk workshops, interviews, and brainstorming sessions to capture comprehensive perspectives.
- Conduct and lead integrated quantitative schedule and cost risk analyses (QRA/CSRA).
- Develop and maintain risk registers with clear articulation of causes, impacts, and responses.
- Assess interdependencies between risks, project interfaces, and organizational change initiatives.
- Integrate risk management into project lifecycles, ensuring alignment with governance, cost, and schedule.
- Deliver actionable insights and recommendations for treatment, mitigation, and contingency planning.
- Design and execute change management strategies supporting project delivery.
- Conduct change impact assessments, stakeholder analyses, and readiness evaluations.
- Develop communication and training plans for adoption of new processes, technologies, and structures.
- Partner with leaders to embed change leadership behaviors and reduce resistance.
- Track and measure effectiveness of change initiatives using both feedback and performance metrics.
- Establish a risk-informed approach to change management, addressing barriers proactively.
- Translate risk insights into targeted change interventions and engagement strategies.
- Present risk-adjusted scenarios and change readiness insights to senior leadership.
- Foster a culture of resilience by embedding risk awareness and adaptability into business processes.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, Risk Management, or related discipline.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI-RMP, or equivalent highly desirable.
- 10+ years of experience in project risk management, ideally within the energy and infrastructure sectors.
- Proficiency in tools such as Deltek Acumen Fuse (preferred) and other risk analysis software.
- Strong background in change management (change analysis) within large-scale, complex, multi-stakeholder projects (Oil & Gas preferred).
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proven ability to synthesize qualitative data into actionable strategies for leadership.
- Strong analytical mindset with flexibility to adapt in dynamic environments.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and based in the Edmonton, AB region.
- Valid driver’s license required.
