Research Technician I – In Vivo Pharmacology
Hourly Pay Rate: $25-28/hr (individual medical benefits available at a cost)
Onsite – South San Francisco, CA
Assignment length – 2 year contract
Shifted work schedule: Workdays include up to 3 days on weekday and 2 days on weekend


Our expanding In Vivo Pharmacology group has an opening for a motivated individual who is dedicated to the discovery and development of innovative therapeutics, both small molecule and biologics. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the primary role of this individual will be to support hands-on execution of in vivo studies for the pharmacological evaluation of novel agents. Additional growth opportunities will be to independently perform in vivo studies and to interact with other research teams to coordinate delivery and testing of study derived samples.

Key Accountabilities/Core Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist team members on various tasks for support of in vivo studies testing of pharmaceutical agents
  • Excellent animal/in vivo skills for experimentation in mice, including independent proficiency on:
  • Animal handling, restraining, shaving, dosing by various routes (IV, IP, SC, PO), and tissue/blood sample collection
  • Data collection including subcutaneous tumor measurements (caliper), body weight measurement, and clinical/animal health observations
  • Strong attention to detail for accurate documentation and communication of study data
    Compliance with all applicable local, federal, GLP, FDA, and USDA regulations
    Adheres to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, appropriate handling of hazardous/biological materials, controlled drugs and animal handling.
Qualifications:
  • Willingness to work flexible hours/days including weekends/holidays - Shifted work schedule: Workdays include up to 3 days on weekday and 2 days on weekend
  • High school diploma, or Associates/Bachelor degree in biology, toxicology, pharmacology or related disciplines, and at least 1 or more years relevant experience working with mice.
  • Must be a team player in a matrixed environment with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational and record-keeping skills is required
  • Enthusiastic individual motivated to learn new techniques, ability to troubleshoot/improve as needed
  • Basic computer skills
 Preferred:
  • Experience in small animal tumor biology studies
  • Previous IACUC laboratory animal training/experience
  • Experience with basic sterile techniques as well as rodent micro-surgical experience are a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Pharma industry experience
