Reliability Technician – Orla TX

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Reliability Technician to join our client’s dynamic operations and production team in West Texas, USA, The role is to ensure operational excellence and regulatory compliance in upstream oil and gas operations.

This role involves performing critical maintenance, monitoring, and repair tasks to uphold environmental standards and optimize equipment reliability. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct LDAR (Leak Detection and Repair) surveys to ensure EPA regulatory compliance, completing approximately 200 surveys per quarter, including associated repairs.
• Respond to, troubleshoot, and repair issues identified through fixed-wing and satellite emission detection technologies.
• Perform twice-daily flare pilot status monitoring and execute flare system repairs as needed.
• Monitor tank pressure twice daily, addressing and repairing upset conditions promptly.
• Coordinate temporary chemical injection skids with vendors, ensuring proper application, grounding, and pre-startup safety reviews.
• Oversee batch chemical treatment processes to maintain operational efficiency.
• Utilize data-driven analysis to identify surface equipment failures, trends, and perform root cause failure analysis to eliminate recurring defects.
• Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, automation, and operations teams to prevent repeat failures and enhance system reliability.

Qualifications
• Strong 5+ years knowledge of upstream oil and gas operations.
• Proven experience in surface equipment troubleshooting and repair.
• Familiarity with automation systems (<50V) and flare system maintenance.
• Proficiency in Cygnet or similar data systems for trending and analysis.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

• Surface equipment troubleshooting and hands-on repair.
• Flare system and low-voltage automation troubleshooting.
• Data analysis and trend identification using Cygnet or similar platforms.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills to interface with cross-functional teams.
• Effective time management and organizational abilities to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
