Regional Sales Manager - Finishing - Midwest

Orion Group has been retained by a market leader in finishing systems to search for a Regional Sales Manager. This role covers either the Midwest (IL, WY, MN, MO, IA) or the Northeast (OH, PA, NY), offering an exciting opportunity to combine technical sales expertise with distributor management and business development.
You will manage and grow a regional distribution network, expand market presence in underrepresented areas, and play a key role in driving revenue performance.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute regional sales plans to achieve revenue targets
  • Build and maintain strong distributor relationships
  • Expand distribution presence in areas with limited coverage
  • Deliver product training and participate in bi-annual distributor events
  • Work closely with engineering, production, and inside sales to resolve escalated customer issues
  • Monitor distributor performance and regional KPIs, providing regular reports
  • Forecast monthly, quarterly, and annual sales bookings
Requirements
  • 3–5 years of technical sales experience (equipment or systems preferred)
  • Proven track record as a Regional Sales Manager or in a similar role
  • Strong background in distributor account management
  • Proficiency with CRM tools such as HubSpot or Salesforce
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned region
  • Self-motivated with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field
  • Knowledge of finishing systems and equipment
  • Understanding of business and financial management principles
