Orion Group are recruiting a Finance Business Partner on behalf of one of our Multinational Pharmaceutical Client based in Maidenhead on a Contract basis.

Global R&D Finance Business Partner

Job Summary

This role will report to the Senior Manager, Global R&D Finance, and will provide financial expertise and Global Finance Business Partner support to R&D and Medical Affairs functions. The role holder will lead provision of accurate, insightful and up to date financial analysis to support and challenge in accordance with short-term and long-term planning and reporting activities of the business. The role holder will additionally play an integral role in feeding into broader strategic initiatives including progression of next generation programs.

Knowledge, Skills and Key Competencies

  • The role holder will be a finance professional with a minimum of 5 years of experience. Experience of working in finance in a global pharmaceutical/healthcare organisation is desired with good understanding of the R&D environment and project finance.
  • Broad business / financial experience supported by strong analytical skills
  • Good experience of project accounting
  • Experience of Global working with multi-disciplinary/cross-cultural teams
  • Demonstrated Knowledge of global and corporate business context
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills - experience in a global environment with multi-disciplinary/cross-cultural teams
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, with multiple deliverables and tight deadlines
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgement and support decision making based on accurate and timely analysis
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to perform in an environment that emphasises collaboration and teamwork
  • Self-starter with the ability to take initiative. Works well, both independently with minimal supervision, and as part of a team
  • High level of customer focus
  • Desire to continually improve processes and procedures
  • Strong systems and software skills - advanced Excel skills a must, SAP experience strongly preferred
  • Must be both detail oriented and have the ability to consider the bigger picture
