Role Overview

The Quality Lead (NDE) serves as the technical authority for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) across all major projects and initiatives. This role provides expert guidance, oversight, and quality assurance on inspection and testing activities to ensure the integrity, reliability, and safety of onshore and offshore equipment throughout construction, commissioning, and operation phases.

Requirements / Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of Quality experience in the Oil & Gas industry, including 1 year of supervisory experience or vendor oversight.
  • NDT Level III certification (Radiographic, Ultrasonic, Magnetic Particle, and Liquid Penetrant Testing) – minimum 8 years.
  • Welding Inspector/Engineer certification – minimum 10 years.
  • In-depth knowledge of NDT techniques, inspection standards, and industry codes (API, ASME, ASTM, DNV, NACE, ISO, etc.).
  • Familiarity with manufacturing, fabrication, and quality practices for upstream and downstream oilfield equipment.
  • Experience conducting audits, assessments, and reviews of fabrication and project quality systems.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Membership in a recognized materials science or inspection institution preferred.
Responsibilities
  1. Act as Technical Authority for all NDT-related matters across major onshore and offshore projects.
  2. Oversee and validate NDT and inspection programs implemented by EPC contractors and vendors.
  3. Review and approve project Quality Plans, ensuring alignment with contract requirements and standards.
  4. Develop and maintain specifications, standards, and procedures related to NDT and welding inspection.
  5. Support Engineering and Operations teams in developing Inspection and Testing Plans for fabrication and commissioning.
  6. Evaluate the performance of contractors’ NDT and welding programs to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
  7. Participate in audits, investigations, and technical reviews to assess process integrity and performance.
  8. Review and provide resolutions for technical queries, non-conformances, and deviation requests.
  9. Ensure all NDT and inspection activities comply with applicable safety and environmental standards.
  10. Support knowledge sharing, coaching, and development of quality practices within project teams.
