Our global energy client is seeking an experienced Inspection Quality Lead to support a major capital project based in Edmonton, AB. This opportunity is suited for highly experienced field professionals who have successfully worked in large industrial projects and can step into a complex execution environment with minimal ramp-up. This is a leadership role. We are looking for individuals who have truly led teams over recent years in major projects within the canadian industrial landscape.

This role involves leading inspection teams, implementing quality control measures, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage inspection teams to conduct quality inspections of products, materials, and processes according to established standards and procedures.
- Develop and implement inspection plans, checklists, and procedures to ensure thorough evaluation and documentation of quality attributes.
- Coordinate with production, engineering, and procurement teams to identify quality issues, root causes, and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Train inspection personnel on quality standards, inspection techniques, and use of inspection equipment to ensure consistency and accuracy of inspections.
- Monitor and analyze quality performance metrics, such as defect rates, reject rates, and customer complaints, to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to address quality issues, deviations, and non-conformities identified during inspections.
- Conduct internal audits and supplier audits to assess compliance with quality management systems, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Communicate quality objectives, requirements, and expectations to internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers to ensure alignment and understanding.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality-related issues, improve processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field.
- 10-20 years (recent) Experience in quality assurance, inspection, or a related role. Preferrably in major brownfield oil & gas projects.
- 5+ (recent) years experience leading teams in major project, quality inspection environment/role
- Knowledge of quality management systems, such as ISO 9001, AS9100, or IATF 1694 Experience in leading inspection teams and managing quality control processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Certification in quality management (e.g., CQE, Six Sigma) preferred.
- Valid Driver license
- Must be local to Edmonton / Fort Saskatchewan / Sherwood Park Area for daily on-site project work
- Legally permitted (current) to work in Canada
- D&A Test, Drivers Abstract and background check to be completed upon successful interview.
