We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineering Specialist with deep expertise in OCTG design, premium connections, tubular manufacturing, and quality assurance to support well engineering and tubular integrity programs in complex drilling environments.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring tubular product integrity, compliance with international standards, and technical assurance across manufacturing, inspection, and field applications.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline
- Advanced coursework in metallurgy is considered an advantage
- Minimum 15 years of specialized experience in OCTG design, manufacturing, inspection, and field application
- Proven expertise in casing and tubing string design, premium connection performance, and technical interface with OCTG manufacturers
- Demonstrated knowledge of API and ISO standards, tubular engineering practices, and quality assurance programs
- Evaluate and qualify premium threaded connections in line with ISO 13679, API RP 5C5, and internal performance criteria
- Interpret and validate connection test data to ensure suitability for specific environments and loading conditions
- Provide recommendations for connection selection aligned with wellbore conditions, pressures, and operational parameters
- Perform engineering design of casing and tubing strings, including strength calculations and performance envelopes
- Ensure designs meet well integrity, performance, and operational objectives under anticipated loading conditions and operating environments
- Collaborate with drilling and completions teams to optimize OCTG selections for well construction efficiency and safety
- Define inspection requirements and develop quality plans covering NDT methods, dimensional inspection, hardness testing, hydrotesting, and drift checks
- Verify compliance with API, ISO, and project-specific specifications
- Provide oversight during inspections and manage disposition of non-conforming materials
- Conduct technical assessments and audits of OCTG manufacturing mills
- Evaluate capabilities related to metallurgical processes, threading, heat treatment, dimensional control, and quality management systems
- Lead mill qualification programs, including process documentation review, sample testing, and compliance verification
- Provide subject matter expertise to well engineering teams on OCTG selection, string configuration, connection compatibility, and design validation
- Participate in design reviews and risk assessments
- Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis of tubular performance issues during operations
- API 5CT, API 5B, API 5C1, API 5C5, API 5C6
- ISO 11960, ISO 13679
- Understanding of OCTG manufacturing processes including threading, heat treatment, inspection, and finishing
- Ability to assess chemical composition against grade requirements
- Understanding of metallurgical principles, mechanical properties, and microstructure analysis relevant to OCTG applications
- Ability to review Material Test Certificates (MTC), mill reports, and heat treatment records for compliance with company and industry requirements
- Evaluate and provide disposition on product deviation requests
- Review product marking, traceability, and preservation methods in line with industry guidelines
- Strong command of OCTG design principles, stress analysis, and string load-case evaluation
- Familiarity with casing and tubing design tools and inspection protocols
- Deep understanding of steel grades, heat treatment processes, and tubular QA/QC practices
- Experience with manufacturing documentation review and compliance verification
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Ability to prepare technical reports, lead technical discussions, and coordinate with internal teams and external vendors
- Highly detail-oriented, disciplined, and technically authoritative
- Able to interface with engineering, QA/QC, procurement, and operations teams
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Capable of mentoring junior staff and supporting knowledge transfer
- Experience working with E&P operators, OCTG manufacturers, or tubular service companies
- Exposure to offshore, sour service, or HPHT well environments
