Our client is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join their Quality Assurance Department reporting to the Manager of Assurance.
Your experience will be in QC disciplines: dimensions, NDT, welding, coating, hydro-testing and functional/factory appliance testing.
The role requires a strong background in Quality Control and experience in Quality Assurance. The candidate must have demonstrable skill in the use of quality tools and techniques.
The ideal candidate will have experience with the implementation of continuous improvement projects alongside their core project support role.
This role will work closely with the operational and support teams to identify and resolve quality issues and support project delivery from tender through execution and final project close out.
Main responsibilities
● Preparation of Tender and Project specific Inspection and Test Plans and Quality Plans in line with client specification requirements
● Review of supplier's Inspection and Test Plans and procedures ensuring compliance with client specifications (including NDE, Testing and Welding)
● Review of suppliers completed certification and manufacturing data dossiers
● Undertake a range of verification activities relating to dimensional, NDT, welding and fabrication, coating, hydro-testing, and functional/factory acceptance testing and preservation
● Perform ISO 9001 based Internal process quality audits
● Support external supplier evaluation through audit / capability assessment in line with client specification/ ISO 9001 standard
● Non Conformance Report and Corrective Action Report creation and resolution facilitation
● Support onsite MRB process
● Support and drive the Continuous Improvement Initiative
● Analyse quality metrics and provide recommendations for improvement
● Liaise with clients and suppliers on quality control requirements and verification activities
● Performing “off-site” verification activities, including witness inspection activities
● Act as QC representative at client and Supplier Kick-Off Meetings and Pre-Inspection Meetings
● Focal point for coordination of 3rd party Inspection activities with Inspection Agencies for assigned projects
● Undertake other reasonable duties within the assurance engineers capability as requested by the Manager of Assurance / commensurate with the role
Capabilities/Competencies
● HNC in Engineering or equivalent qualification/experience
● Experience in the creation of Inspection and Test Plans
● Experience in QC disciplines: dimensional, NDT, welding, coating, hydro-testing, and functional/factory acceptance testing
● Experience with interpretation of engineering drawings
Additional
● This role will require an element of travel including working abroad for limited periods
