POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Quality Control (QC) Inspector (Welding/Coating) - BDWJF / Pipelay Barge (PLBH) Org. Chart Reference: GPO Major Projects - Shah Deniz Compression - AGT Subsea Quality team.
KEY ROLE
The Quality Control Inspection is responsible for implementing all project quality control requirements for the preparation work and offshore installation of the Shah Deniz Compression pipelines.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
General Team Responsibilities
As a member of the SDC Subsea Quality Team the QC Inspector Welding/Coating will have the following general responsibilities:
· Implementing safe and efficient execution of project scopes
· Awareness and promotion of project goals in respect of HSE, cost, schedule & technical integrity
· Direction, motivation, support and leadership to project team members and contractors.
· Awareness and promotion of BP GPO expectations of Safe Design and Quality Build and conformance to the GPO Operating Management System (OMS) requirements including risk management, continuous improvement and management of change.
· Promoting an effective and collaborative working environment with a ‘One Team’ approach.
· Ensuring lessons learned are captured and shared with the onshore management team
· Providing exemplary leadership to contractors and vendors to facilitate successful scope delivery
QC Inspector (Welding/coating) Specific Responsibilities
As a member of the SDC Subsea Quality team the QC Inspector Welding/Coating will have the following specific responsibilities:
· Providing welding and NDT support during the fabrication of installation aids
· Providing oversight of storage and preservation conditions of Line pipes.
· Providing QC support during the Field Joint Coating (FJC) Pre-Production Test (PPT), and Welder Qualification Test (WQT) prior to offshore execution.
· Providing support during commissioning of the welding and the FJC equipment onboard the PLBH
· Monitoring the relevant quality control aspects of welding activities onboard the PLBH
· Monitoring relevant quality control aspects of FJC activities onboard the PLBH
· Assisting BP Quality Inspection Supervisor to provide daily reports/updates identifying status of work quality, safety, team behavior, areas of concern and suggestions for improvement
· Ensuring that all relevant quality documentation, testing and inspection results are properly documented, complete and handed over in accordance with the information handover specification
General Quality Management Responsibilities
As a member of the SDC Subsea Quality team the QC Inspector Welding/Coating will have the following general quality management responsibilities:
· Providing guidance, advice and training to project team, contractors, suppliers, inspectors and third parties as required to ensure understanding of the Project Quality objectives.
· Reviewing the contractor’s Inspection & Test Plans and other relevant quality documentation.
· Identifying Contractor’s and Sub-contractor quality risk and providing quality audit support
· Coordinating any Independent Verification Body inspection activities on the pipelay barge
· Facilitating the project activities to handle contractor queries, non-conformances, deviations and concession requests
SECTION 5 : QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSEssential
· CSWIP 3.2.1 Senior Welding Inspector
· Plus, hold at least 1 of the coating inspection qualifications listed below:
· CSWIP/BGAS Coating Inspector grade 2
· NACE Coating Inspector level 2
· UK ICorr Coating Inspector Level 2
· A minimum of 10years offshore construction experience
· Direct offshore experience of pipe-lay barge operations with mechanized welding and 3LPE, LE and HSS FJC systems is preferred.
