QC Inspector – Production Manifolds
Location: Avilés, Spain (Residential)
Start Date: 05 January 2026
Duration: 1 year, renewable until early 2028
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced QC Inspector – Production Manifolds to provide on-site quality control services at the fabrication worksite in Avilés, Spain.
The selected professional will ensure that the Contractor delivers Production Manifolds and Foundations on time, in full compliance with Company’ HSE standards and project quality requirements.
You will work closely with the CPY Subsea HSE Lead, Quality Lead, Materials & Welding Lead, and Delivery Lead, acting as a key interface to guarantee the technical integrity and compliance of all welding and manufacturing activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES HSE & Compliance
This position supports the development of a major deepwater offshore project involving reservoir development, subsea systems, FPSO, and production/injection architecture.
The GPI team works towards optimising reserves, reducing costs and GHG emissions, and delivering a technically robust project with the highest H3SE expectations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES HSE & Compliance
- Ensure full adherence to site HSE rules and maintain situational awareness at all times.
- Promote exemplary H3SE behaviour and enforce Company safety requirements.
- Report anomalies and apply the STOP WORK authority when needed.
- Ensure risk assessments, toolbox talks, and management of change processes are properly implemented.
- Uphold Company Ethics and Anti-Corruption policies.
- Verify that Contractor and sub-contractor activities comply with Project Specifications, industry standards and contractual requirements.
- Conduct detailed welding inspections before, during and after operations in line with ISO 3834-2.
- Perform inspections on CRA materials including Super Duplex, Inconel 625, Alloy 59, and LAS (F22).
- Assess weld quality using advanced NDT techniques:
- Visual Testing
- Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
- PAUT
- Radiographic Testing (RT)
- Magnetic Particle & Liquid Penetrant Testing
- Interpret WPS and PQR to validate compliance during production.
- Inspect incoming materials against certificates and project requirements.
- Identify, document and escalate any deviation or quality anomaly.
- Take part in root cause analyses and corrective action plans with welding engineers and production teams.
- Issue weekly inspection reports and maintain all QC documentation.
- Stop work in case of non-conformity and coordinate re-assessment.
- Support audits by Company and Contractor and follow-up closure of corrective actions.
- Ensure all non-conformities are closed in a timely manner without impacting schedule.
- Participate in daily/welding activity reviews and feedback to project team.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- 15+ years in welding inspection, including production of subsea structures / manifolds.
- Strong experience with CRA materials: Super Duplex, Inconel 625, HIPPED components, LAS (F22).
- Certification as a Welding Inspector: CWI, CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2, or equivalent.
- NDT Level 3 certifications: UT, PAUT, RT, DPI (minimum).
- Solid understanding of welding processes, buttering, overlay, girth welding.
- Skilled in interpreting engineering drawings, WPS, PQR, and technical documents.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting ability.
- Fluent in English (Spanish or French is an advantage).
