QA/QC inspector

Key Accountabilities
  • Perform inspection of materials and equipment (valves, piping, fittings, pressure vessels, etc.) and verify documentation compliance with purchase orders, standards, and codes.
  • Support Engineers in developing and qualifying new welding procedures, including witnessing tests and maintaining up-to-date welding records.
  • Coordinate periodic inspection and certification of gas cylinders and portable tanks.
  • Conduct and witness various destructive and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods to ensure material conformity.
  • Execute QA/QC activities for planned and unplanned shutdowns, ensuring all work permits and quality documentation are in order.
  • Review contractors’ QA/QC documentation such as quality plans, inspection and test plans, welding procedures, and qualifications.
  • Carry out QA/QC tasks including welding, NDT, heat treatment, GRP/FRP inspections, and pressure tests per specifications.
  • Perform supplier and contractor quality system audits and provide reports for continuous improvement.
  • Update SAP and Meridium systems with inspection results, maintaining complete QA/QC documentation and traceability.
Experience
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in material inspection, fabrication, welding, NDT, and coating within the oil & gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge of international codes and standards: ASME, AWS, ASTM, API, NACE/ISO.
Qualifications
  • Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • AWS-SCWI or CSWIP 3.2 certification (or equivalent).
  • Professional certifications in API 510, 570, and/or 653 preferred.
  • ASNT/PCN Level-2 certification in UT, MT, PT, RT, or advanced NDT.
