QA/QC Engineer - Well Engineering

Reporting to: Delivery Team Lead

SUMMARY DUTIES & REQUIREMENTS
(QAQC Engineer responsible for equipment inspection, readiness, failure investigations and witnessing of equipment make up, strip down and functioning.
Tullow QAQC Engineer supports Rig Superintendents, Drilling Engineering Supervisors, Completions Operations Supervisors and EHS Lead as required
Focal point for QMS assurance, equipment preparedness for deployment offshore and failure investigations.

WORK LOCATION
Normally based in Takoradi with trips offshore as required

ASSIGNMENT
The QAQC Engineer will be available for a 7 day per week basis working a 28/28 roster

COMPETENCY AND GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
The QAQC Engineer should have:

Minimum 10 years' experience in the oil & gas drilling industry.
Have a university degree in engineering or science; a degree in Petroleum Engineering would be preferred
Excellent QMS awareness, appreciation, commitment, knowledge, and behaviour - a high standard of QMS compliance & performance is essential
Excellent HSE awareness, appreciation, commitment, knowledge, and behaviour - a high standard of HSE compliance & performance is essential
Experience with operations in logistically remote areas
Awareness of, and have experience with, modern drilling technology & equipment.
Familiarity with accepted industry practices, including API specifications and recommended practices.
Experience of working in a small multi-functional team with cooperation and appreciation between the various disciplines of drilling, well testing/well completions, EHS, contracts, and purchasing & logistics.
A capability for contractor & personnel liaison & coordination
Fluency in English, both oral & written, with good presentation & report writing skills.
Good computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project)
Good numeracy skills, capable of engineering calculations
Good inter-personal skills, including good communication skills
A diligent attitude, paying attention to detail when giving instructions or recommendations (oral or written), writing reports or programmes, or checking equipment
A capability for accurate, thorough, diligent, and honest operational reporting
A capability for efficient operational and logistical planning & scheduling
A performance orientated, positive attitude, able to work under stress in an amicable manner

Technical Tasks
Provide all the required QA/QC support.
Review well programmes and devise support plans to ensure that the rigs can operate efficiently.
Prepare update reports on field drilling service activities, highlighting planned activities and potential risks and operational delays.
Supervise third party tools and product preparations, testing and loadout at contractor facilities
Efficiently communicate planned programme/schedule and any changes to field personnel.
Improve efficiency of equipment and materials coordination (call outs, load outs, storage and handling etc.) from a well engineering technical perspective.
Inspect Tullow owned equipment (bits, subs, crossovers, bullseyes' etc) preparation and maintenance and supervise/co-ordinate all machine shop activities related to this equipment.
Co-ordinate and document all Failure Investigations, NPT, Non-conformances from a Takoradi perspective.
Conduct periodic third-party facilities inspection, audit and competency assessments on service companies to verify continued compliance to Tullow standards and expectations in accordance with applicable contract requirements.
