PROJECT PLANNER
Maputo, Mozambique (Resident)
Resident - Monday to Friday

A major international energy development is seeking an experienced Project Planner to support scheduling, progress control, forecasting, and reporting activities across a large-scale LNG project. Based in Maputo, this role sits within the Project Controls team and plays a key part in ensuring planning integrity across multiple international project interfaces.

Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and update integrated project schedules across multiple work packages
Define and refine Work Breakdown Structures aligned with project control and reporting requirements

Prepare planning deliverables including:
  • S-curves
  • Progress measurement reports
  • Forecast schedules and critical path analysis
  • Monitor contractor schedules and assess progress against approved baselines
  • Analyse deviations, delays, and critical path impacts, providing clear reporting to stakeholders
  • Support schedule risk analysis and ensure risks are properly reflected in planning outputs
  • Contribute to weekly and monthly reporting cycles, ensuring accurate project performance tracking
  • Assist with contract planning reviews, tender evaluations, and change management processes
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams across multiple locations
  • Provide planning insights and recommendations to support project management decision-making
Requirements
Degree in Engineering, Business, or related discipline
Minimum 5 years’ experience in major oil & gas or large infrastructure projects
Strong understanding of project planning and controls principles

Proficient in:
Primavera P6
MS Project
Advanced Excel reporting and analysis
Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills
Ability to work within international, multi-disciplinary teams
Fluent English required; Portuguese and/or French advantageous
