Project Manager I – Immunology Medical Payer Strategy
Onsite – Mettawa, IL (Lake County)
Contract through end of year

$45-$49/hr based on benefit selection
 
Orion Group is seeking a Project Manager I to support the Immunology Medical Payer Strategy team within a leading global pharmaceutical organization.
This role will partner closely with Medical Affairs, Market Access, HEOR, Clinical Development, and Commercial teams to help develop and execute payer-focused medical strategies and resources that support population-based healthcare decision makers.
This is a highly cross-functional role ideal for someone with strong project management experience within pharma/medical affairs who is comfortable managing complex initiatives, coordinating approvals, and translating scientific and health economic information into payer-relevant materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support development and execution of medical payer strategy initiatives in partnership with Immunology Medical Payer Strategy therapeutic directors (MPS-Ds)
  • Coordinate creation, review, approval, and maintenance of payer-facing materials including slide decks, FAQs, and scientific resources
  • Route materials through regulatory, legal, and compliance review processes for field use
  • Collaborate with Market Access, HEOR, Clinical Development, Commercial, and Medical Affairs teams to support strategic initiatives
  • Assist with development and execution of real-world evidence (RWE) and medical affairs research activities
  • Support medical education initiatives including webinars, podcasts, advisory boards, and payer symposia
  • Monitor scientific literature, payer trends, competitive intelligence, and healthcare policy updates
  • Help develop scientific training resources and support training efforts for payer-facing teams
  • Participate in regulatory, OEC, and legal review discussions as needed
  • Lead or support cross-functional project teams and ensure timelines and deliverables remain on track
Qualifications
  • Advanced degree strongly preferred (PhD, PharmD, or similar)
  • Prior pharmaceutical industry experience required
  • Experience supporting or managing Medical Affairs, HEOR, Market Access, payer strategy, or real-world evidence initiatives
  • Strong project management and cross-functional coordination experience
  • Ability to lead projects and influence teams without direct authority
  • Familiarity with regulatory review processes and payer-facing materials preferred
  • Basic understanding of statistics, health economics, and RWE research methodologies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
Preferred Background
  • Immunology experience preferred
  • Experience supporting payer strategy or value/access initiatives is a plus
  • Exposure to pharmacoeconomics, HEOR, or medical communications highly desirable
