Location: North Chicago, IL
Work Model: Hybrid (Tues, Wed, Thurs Onsite, M&F remote)
Contract: Through December 31, 2026
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Up to $50/HR based on benefit elections
 
Orion Group's pharmaceutical client is seeking an experienced Project Manager III to support its Global Philanthropy organization. This role will help drive the day-to-day operations behind community grants, employee engagement programs, reporting and analytics, financial tracking, systems, and process improvement.

The ideal candidate combines strong project and operations management skills with the ability to manage data, build reporting tools, improve processes, and coordinate multiple initiatives and stakeholders simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple projects, operational processes, timelines, priorities, and deliverables across the Global Philanthropy function.
  • Build and maintain dashboards, metrics, KPIs, and reporting used to measure program performance and impact.
  • Collect, organize, analyze, and translate data into meaningful insights for leadership reporting, audits, and other business needs.
  • Coordinate community grants from intake and evaluation through processing, tracking, and completion.
  • Support employee giving, volunteering, scholarship, disaster relief, and other philanthropic programs.
  • Manage grant and program information within systems such as CyberGrants, YourCause, and Benevity.
  • Oversee invoice processing, budget tracking, financial reporting, and grant-related payments.
  • Investigate and resolve employee and grantee inquiries related to philanthropic programs.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, Finance, community organizations, vendors, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes through automation, technology, templates, and improved workflows.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, compliance tools, and operational tracking systems.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, operations management, program operations, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Experience building or managing dashboards, reporting tools, metrics, KPIs, or evaluation systems.
  • Strong data management and analytical skills.
  • Experience with budgets, invoices, financial tracking, and/or operational reporting.
  • Strong systems aptitude and ability to quickly learn new technology platforms.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to identify process inefficiencies and translate business needs into practical solutions.
Preferred: Experience within corporate philanthropy, nonprofit/foundation operations, community grants, employee engagement, ESG/corporate responsibility, or grant-management platforms such as CyberGrants, YourCause, or Benevity.
