Orion Group is seeking an experienced Project Manager II to support strategic business initiatives and long-range planning efforts within a complex, cross-functional environment. This individual will work independently with business partners and stakeholders to drive projects from planning through execution while ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, timelines, budgets, compliance requirements, and customer commitments.
 
The ideal candidate is a proactive, solutions-oriented project manager with strong communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills who thrives in a fast-paced matrix environment.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
  • Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, timelines, budgets, objectives, deliverables, and execution strategies.
    • Lead multiple projects simultaneously or manage large-scale initiatives with moderate to high complexity.
    • Partner cross-functionally with stakeholders to drive project execution and ensure alignment with business goals.
    • Translate project plans into measurable actions and monitor progress against established milestones.
    • Identify risks, anticipate potential roadblocks, and develop mitigation and contingency plans.
    • Facilitate project meetings and provide regular status updates to stakeholders and leadership.
    • Prepare and deliver written reports, presentations, and project communications for various audiences, including senior management.
    • Ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures, quality standards, and project governance requirements.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and recommend innovative solutions to enhance performance, quality, and operational effectiveness.
    • Support team coordination, workload management, and issue escalation as needed to ensure successful project delivery.
 
Required Qualifications
 
  • Bachelor's degree required.
    • 5+ years of project management experience within a corporate, manufacturing, supply chain, operations, engineering, quality, or related environment.
    • Experience working within a matrixed, cross-functional organization.
    • Strong project planning, prioritization, organization, and time management skills.
    • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive projects forward without direct authority.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
    • Experience managing project budgets, timelines, risks, and deliverables.
    • Proficiency with project management tools and standard business software applications.
 
Preferred Qualifications
 
  • PMP certification.
    • MBA or advanced degree.
    • Experience supporting manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, quality, or operational business functions.
    • Knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, or business performance metrics.
    • Experience leading global or geographically dispersed project teams.
