Project Manager I (Non-IT) – Eye Care Brand Operations
Location: North Chicago, IL (Hybrid – Tue, Wed, Thurs onsite)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, standard business hours
Contract: 6–12 months to start (extension based on performance & business needs)
Pay Rate: $63-$67/hr based on benefit selection
 
Orion Group is seeking a Project Manager I (Non-IT) to support Eye Care brand team initiatives within our pharmaceutical client’s IMCO organization.
This role is responsible for coordinating, planning, and executing cross-functional brand and operational projects, ensuring alignment with business priorities, timelines, and budget expectations.
The ideal candidate brings a strong mix of project management, budget tracking, governance, and stakeholder communication, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
 
What You’ll Do:
Project Management & Execution
  • Lead and coordinate Eye Care brand initiatives from planning through execution
  • Develop and manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery
  • Track progress and proactively identify risks, dependencies, and potential delays
Governance & Performance Tracking
  • Establish and maintain governance processes to track project progress, performance, and accountability
  • Monitor both financial and strategic metrics, ensuring alignment to IMCO standards
  • Provide regular status updates and reporting to stakeholders and leadership
Budget & Financial Management
  • Manage budget-related processes including monthly forecasting, purchase orders, and vendor coordination
  • Track actuals vs. forecast and ensure financial accuracy across projects
  • Partner with finance and business teams to support budget planning and reconciliation
Stakeholder Communication & Collaboration
  • Serve as a central point of contact across cross-functional teams including Marketing, ACE, and Brand teams
  • Drive clear, consistent communication to ensure alignment on priorities, timelines, and deliverables
  • Facilitate meetings, track action items, and ensure follow-through
Process Improvement & Operations
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, tracking, and team efficiency
  • Support implementation of modular content marketing plans in partnership with Marketing and ACE teams
  • Maintain and enhance team portals, documentation, and shared resources
Calendar & Coordination
  • Own and manage the Eye Care team calendar of events
  • Coordinate key activities, meetings, and milestones to ensure alignment across initiatives
 
What You Bring:

Required:
  • 5+ years of experience in project or program management (non-IT)
  • Strong experience managing timelines, deliverables, and cross-functional projects
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, forecasts, and financial tracking
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Preferred:
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or regulated industries
  • Experience with Smartsheet, project management tools, or content management systems
  • Background supporting marketing, brand, or commercial teams
  • Experience building or maintaining governance frameworks and reporting processes
