Working Hours/Day – 8-10 Hrs/day
Working Days/Week - 6 days/week
Working Days/Month - 26 days/month
Leave Rotation - 12 weeks on/2 weeks off
 
Job Purpose
The Project Manager (China Fabrication) (PMCF) is responsible for managing all China Fabrication activities on COMP2 and COMP5 up to sail away to ensure objectives are safely met within the approved scope and schedule. Responsible for delivery of all the CP and LQ facilities being fabricated in Chinese yards Responsible for All site management activities across Chinese Yards
May be assigned specific task at the request of the Senior Project Manager.
 
Job Context & Major Challenge
Manage NFPS construction site activities in China Project, to ensure all delivery objectives are safely met within the approved scope and schedule.
Manage the Contractor to execute the Project in compliance with Contract requirements and Company Specification
Interfaces with various project teams and departments on resolving related issues that require effective communication, initiative, flexibility and an ability to induce collaboration.
Act as COMP SPM delegated representative in-country to implement Project objectives and strategies as the relate to site activities
 
Key Job Accountabilities
Focal point at site, for promoting and implementing safety on construction site. Implement the safety observations reporting and monitoring.
Lead the China fabrication team including all department from HSE, Quality, Mechanical Completion, Commissioning and keep the team committed to targets defined by the project management.
Provide regular updates to the Senior Project Manager in executing Project responsibilities for his scope of work, Organize briefing for Senior Project Manager and Venture Manager during visit of Chinese Yards
Manage company site team, organize training & induction, anticipate workload variation and mobilization/ demobilization of site resources including Third Party Inspectors services (TPIS), organize mass site briefing, internal communication and Team building event as necessary.
Ensure the Project fabrication predictive Schedule is updated on monthly basis and lead risk and opportunity initiatives. Ensure Reporting from the Contractor is consistent and accurate with approved progress procedure, approve the Contractor monthly progress invoice.
Manage the Site Teams, PMT, Contractor and Subcontractor as necessary to ensure the delivery of the Project, manage construction, safety, quality and mechanical completion expectations, to ensure Topsides can be fully commissioned at Yard. Anticipate, prepare and manage all specific construction activities of the Project, to ensure the technical objectives are met within the approved scope, budget and schedule.
Ensure coordination for site activities and provide technical support with contractor, quality, safety, planning and engineering.
Review, approve and implement Contractor greenfield fabrication construction plans. Ensure Contractor greenfield fabrication construction and load out documents and other submittals are timely reviewed and approved in accordance with the EPC contract requirements.
Review all fabrication changes, including justification for cost and schedule impacts, in accordance with the PMOC procedure.
Attend meetings as required, mentor the trainees to develop their project skills and experience while being on site; Maintain a register of lessons learned
 
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering
 
Knowledge and/Experience
15 years of experience in multiple project functions and assignments, e.g., project management, engineering, construction, procurement. Etc. in the Oil and Gas Industry, including 5 years of Project Management leadership in a Major Oil and Gas Project
Experience with EPC contractors, sub-contractors and vendors involved in the oil and gas industry
Experience with company projects, Shareholder projects (Qatar Petroleum, ExxonMobil, Shell)
Experience with Chinese fabrication yards
Demonstrated ability and sensitivity to work with people from variety of cultural backgrounds
Worldwide experience with contractors in particular those involved in the construction of offshore production facilities
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and the ability to communicate and interact within a PMT
Application and in depth knowledge of stakeholder specifications and a working knowledge of Industry standards Any Qualification, Technical, or knowledge requirements can be waived through relevant work experience.
 
Technical and Business Skills
A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English
Computer literacy involving the regular use of professional office applications
