Overview
We are seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to lead the development and delivery of a 20MW green hydrogen project in Wales. This is a key leadership role within a rapidly growing renewable energy business at the forefront of the energy transition.
The position is ideally based in Bristol, with flexible hybrid or remote working arrangements available. Regular travel to project and stakeholder locations will be required.
Working within a dynamic international environment, you will collaborate closely with technical, commercial, procurement, and engineering teams to ensure the successful progression of the project from development through to execution. The role offers significant exposure across all project phases and requires strong leadership, technical capability, and stakeholder management expertise.
Reporting directly to the Head of Projects, the successful candidate will play a critical role in delivering a strategically important infrastructure project within the green hydrogen sector.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of the 20MW hydrogen project, ensuring delivery against quality, schedule, budget, and safety objectives.
- Provide strong project leadership supported by sound technical and engineering expertise.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure aligned and efficient project development.
- Drive effective resolution of complex technical and commercial challenges.
- Implement and maintain robust project risk management and mitigation strategies.
- Champion a strong health, safety, and environmental culture, ensuring the highest HSE standards throughout project delivery.
- Develop and execute contracting and procurement strategies in collaboration with procurement and commercial teams.
- Manage contractor and supplier performance to ensure contractual obligations and project milestones are achieved.
- Support effective commercial and contract management across all project interfaces.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, partners, regulatory bodies, and key stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively across business functions to proactively manage project risks and minimise claims exposure.
- Represent the organisation professionally and uphold the highest ethical and operational standards.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in technical project development and/or project management within complex industrial or hazardous process environments.
- Strong technical and regulatory understanding gained within sectors such as energy, chemicals, hydrogen, oil & gas, or other process industries.
- Demonstrated leadership capability with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly organised, results-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently.
- Proactive and solution-focused approach with strong problem-solving capability.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across international and multicultural teams.
- Positive, adaptable, and motivated mindset with a willingness to learn and contribute.
- Previous experience within the hydrogen sector or related energy transition technologies would be advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
