Project Manager – Market Access / Trade Operations
Location: Mettawa, IL
Work Model: Hybrid (1–2 days onsite per week; remainder remote)
Contract Length: 12 months, with possible extension based on performance and business needs
$83-$88/HR based on benefit selection
Orion Group is hiring a Project Manager for our pharmaceutical client’s Market Access Trade program.
The Project Manager in this role will engage channel stakeholders to support access to a portfolio of products, services, and resources, enabling an exceptional patient experience.
The Project Manager – Market Access / Trade Operations will also support the Trade Program Solutions team by executing channel contract initiatives, managing pharmacy programs, and contributing to strategic initiative planning. This role partners closely with Trade Account Executives, Trade Marketing, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure programs are compliant, consistently delivered, and aligned with business priorities.
This position requires a highly organized, detail-oriented project manager who can operate effectively in an ambiguous environment, manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, and contribute innovative ideas to improve processes and execution.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with field teams and internal stakeholders to draft, redline, and execute specialty and retail pharmacy agreements, including Confidential Disclosure Agreements (CDAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), and Master Services Agreements (MSAs), across multiple therapeutic areas.
- Manage contracts end-to-end through Fair Market Value (FMV) review, redlining, negotiation, signature, purchase order creation, program implementation, and invoice reconciliation, ensuring accurate documentation within established repositories and systems.
- Support strategic initiative planning in partnership with Trade Marketing Leadership by organizing workstreams, assessing readiness, and driving execution.
- Prioritize initiatives based on program expirations, approval timelines, budget constraints, and business needs.
- Ensure strict adherence to corporate and divisional compliance policies and guidelines.
- Plan, track, and monitor budgets, including spend tracking, invoice reconciliation, and forecasting of future program needs.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives, including development of playbooks and standardized workflows to promote consistency and efficiency across Trade Program Solutions activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Demonstrated contract management experience across vendor and client engagements.
- Strong ability to thrive in ambiguity, adapt to changing priorities, and manage multiple cross-functional initiatives concurrently.
- Proven cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with strong documentation, analysis, and tracking capabilities.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ownership mindset and willingness to share ideas and drive innovation.
Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Qualifications
- Experience within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
- Background in process improvement and/or development of playbooks or standardized operating procedures.
- Experience with portfolio-level financial planning, budget tracking, and forecasting.
