Project Manager – EEDI (Education & Leadership Development)
Location: North Chicago, IL
Schedule: Monday – Friday, Core Business Hours
Work Model: Hybrid (Onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
Contract Length: 6 months (potential extension)
Rate: $44-$48/hr based on benefits


 
Orion Group is seeking a Project Manager to support our pharmaceutical client’s Equity, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EEDI) Education & Leadership Development team.
This role will be responsible for managing project plans, coordinating learning initiatives, and supporting the development of communication materials that drive organizational effectiveness.
This is a highly collaborative role working across global, cross-functional teams and external vendors to support key EEDI initiatives, leadership programs, and employee development efforts.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage project plans to ensure delivery of initiatives on time and within budget
  • Coordinate and support learning programs, leadership development initiatives, and internal events
  • Develop and manage project timelines, schedules, and deliverables
  • Create and maintain presentations, communication materials, and project documentation
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align on project goals, timelines, and execution strategies
  • Support vendor coordination and management for learning programs and events
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and proactively implement solutions
  • Ensure timely and effective communication across teams and stakeholders
  • Manage and maintain project files, documentation, and knowledge resources
  • Provide regular updates on project status, milestones, and budget tracking
 
Qualifications
Required:
  • Minimum of 2+ years of project management experience
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and SharePoint
  • Demonstrated experience managing project timelines, budgets, and deliverables
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, global, and matrixed environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders
Preferred:
  • Experience supporting learning & development (L&D), training, or leadership programs
  • Exposure to EEDI (Equity, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion) initiatives
  • Experience coordinating events, workshops, or educational programs

  • This position is a backfill for a recently promoted team member, with potential for knowledge transfer and transition support
  • Candidates must be comfortable working onsite 3 days per week (Tue–Thu)
