Project Manager I – Agency Finance & Operations (Non-IT)
Location: Mettawa, IL
Work Model: Hybrid – onsite Tuesday–Thursday
Contract Length: 12 months to start
$37-41/HR based on benefits 


Orion Group is hiring a Project Manager I (Non-IT) to support Agency Finance and Operations for our global pharmaceutical client, in Mettawa, IL.
This role supports operational and finance-related projects across onboarding, technology coordination, and agency operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple administrative and operational workstreams in a fast-paced corporate environment.
 
Role Overview
The Project Manager will partner closely with Finance and Operations leadership to support day-to-day project coordination, new-hire onboarding, and operational initiatives.
This role focuses on managing technology ordering and delivery, maintaining onboarding workflows, coordinating FinOps projects, and serving as a liaison between internal teams to ensure smooth operational execution.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Project manage the ordering and delivery of Mac computers and related equipment for new hires
  • Create and maintain new hire onboarding checklists for the Operations team, including tracking calendars, start dates, and next steps
  • Support Finance Operations (FinOps) initiatives such as trainings, open houses, and gathering information for organizational charts and cross-functional teams
  • Assign and route technical issues to the appropriate Operations points of contact
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure the timely completion of operational tasks
  • Maintain documentation and process tracking to support growing workload and operational efficiency
  • Provide general project coordination support across Agency Finance and Operations
 
Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong project coordination or project management experience in an administrative, operations, or finance environment
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally
  • Experience supporting onboarding, operations, or internal process management preferred
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid onsite environment
