Water/Wastewater Project Manager
Washington, DC | Full-Time | $65–$90/hour

This firm is widely respected for delivering innovative, high-quality solutions in transportation, water/wastewater, and major infrastructure programs.

This position is a unique opportunity to sit directly inside the end client’s integrated program office, where our partner firm operates as a trusted subcontract consultant supporting some of the region’s most critical water infrastructure initiatives. You will play a key role in leading Potomac Interceptor Sewer Pipeline projects and shaping the resilience of the region’s water systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead preparation of RFQs/RFPs and contribute to capital improvement planning strategies.
  • Provide technical leadership in water and wastewater conveyance design.
  • Oversee large-diameter sewer and interceptor rehabilitation efforts.
  • Apply and manage trenchless technologies, including:
    • CIPP (Cured-In-Place Pipe)
    • Microtunneling
    • Tunnel support systems
  • Perform and review pipeline design, hydraulic modelling, and flow analysis.
  • Lead bypass planning and coordination for complex rehabilitation projects.
  • Support multidisciplinary design teams and deliver construction-phase technical support.
  • Conduct thorough QA/QC reviews for engineering designs and construction submittals.
  • Manage schedules, budgets, reporting, and stakeholder communications.
  • Ensure full adherence to project requirements, safety standards, and quality expectations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 8–25 years of experience in water/wastewater design and project management.
  • Active PE license (DC preferred) or ability to obtain one quickly.
  • Demonstrated expertise in:
    • Water/wastewater conveyance systems
    • Large-diameter sewer and interceptor rehabilitation
    • CIPP, microtunneling, trenchless construction, tunnel support
    • Hydraulic modelling, flow analysis, pipeline design
    • Bypass pumping planning and execution
    • Multidisciplinary coordination and construction-phase support
    • QA/QC for design and construction documentation
