Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Project Engineer - Tanks, to be based in their offices in the Netherlands.

The world's leading independent tank storage company, our client operate a global network of terminals located at strategic locations along major trade routes.
As a Project Engineer Tanks it's an interesting time for you to come on board! As a Project engineer tanks you prepare and align project specifications for the execution of tank maintenance programs, including the specification of utilities, equipment, materials and operating parameters, within a changing field of legal requirements. For the smaller projects you are also the project manager. If this is you, then we'll be happy to meet you!

Your three main missions
'You'll ensure the integrity of our main assets, the storage tanks'
'You'll' be managing the scope, budget, quality, planning and risks of the tank maintenance projects'
'You'll make sure all relevant new and existing legislation in the area of storage tanks is implemented and followed'

How will you do this?
The Project engineer tank realizes the tank maintenance projects under responsibility of the Program manager tanks and together with the construction teams and other disciplines on the different terminals. The Project engineer tanks will interact with stakeholders within the Netherlands division as well as on the terminals to ensure scope and legal compliance. He will make integral cost estimates and execute projects timely and on the approved budgets. He will provide specialist knowledge on the terminals when required. If necessary he may be involved with major projects on our terminals. He will also interact frequently with external parties such as inspection companies and contractors. You will continuously improve your specialist knowledge in the field of storage tanks and share best practices into the team and the organisation.

Job Function
Prepare project details, scope engineering documents and cost estimate for the execution of the planned tank maintenance works together with (main) contractors and other departments and disciplines;
Prepare RFC in close cooperation with terminal's construction department and contractors;
Responsible for coordination of procurement and or contracting of materials and services together with internal specialists;
Governance on quality and legal and or safety requirements during the whole tank maintenance project including execution;
Responsible for handover the project to operational domain and ensure closure of project including timely completing of tank files;
Support the preparation of technical proposals for improvements of technical installations;
Assist in the technical assessment of installations to establish a technical state of current and new installations including Fit for Purpose declarations;
Support or promote innovations, new products and methods related to tanks;
Support the terminals in issues related to tanks and tank maintenance;
Interacts with other initiatives for example in Risk Based Inspection meetings or budget cycle;
Contributes to standardized way of working over terminals and within team;
Responsible for leading project evaluations and Management of Change. Responsible for safety, quality, progress and cost control and reporting during the project*
Responsible for leading change process in case of scope changes*
Proactively identifies risks and seeks for mitigation in order to create 'flow'


Who we are looking for
Bachelor/Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field;
Proven track record in a project engineering position, preferably in the field of storage tanks or in a related industry;
Project management experience is preferred;
Self-motivated to 'close the loop' with actions and administrative responsibilities;
Verifiable knowledge of EEMUA publ. 159 and/or API 653 is required;
Fluency in Dutch and adequate level of English;
Able to build and maintain both internal and external relations on various levels;
Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in written;
Proven safety leadership and service mindedness;
