Project Engineer
Our client, a north sea operator is currently recruiting for the position of Project Engineer based in Aberdeen. This will be for a 6-month PAYE contract initially and is to support operations on their late life assets. Hybrid working is available, 4 days office based, 1 day working from home.
Scope/Overall Purpose of Job:
Reporting to the Technical / Projects Team Lead, the Project Engineer will be part of a team tasked with delivering a broad portfolio of brownfield projects covering all stages (Appraise to Execute)
Key Job Responsibilities:
Maintain high standards of HES performance, within area of responsibility and influence.
Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of assigned workscopes.
Manage Tier 1 EPC contractor and ensure alignment on asset priorities.
Ensure cost and schedule forecasts are accurately maintained for all assigned workscopes
Responsible for preparing and presenting project decision support packages in-line with requirements of company Tender board and Investment committee meetings.
Responsible for robust technical and design assurance, in compliance with the company MOC & project management processes, ensuring all required formal reviews (Design review, HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA, Constructability, SIMOPS) are completed for the assigned workscopes.
Responsible for managing engagement with independent verification body (IVB) as assigned projects progress from design phase through to commissioning and close-out.
Responsible for managing all FAT, SAT & commissioning activities with EPC contractor & 3rd party vendors to ensure a seamless transition from construction start through to operation.
Identify, manage and maintain visibility of risks and opportunities relevant to assigned workscopes. Develop and communicate mitigation and contingency plans as appropriate.
Collaborate effectively with Contractors and internal departments, maintaining diligent focus on interface management.
Maintain formal records relating to actions, decisions, technical queries, concession requests, interfaces, change management and cost/schedule variation control.
Challenge norms, seek efficiencies in processes and procedures, incorporate lean and smart methods of scope delivery.
Support technical evaluation of bids, enquiries, proposals and potential solutions, as required.
Provide engineering & construction support to asset teams as required to support break-in work related to operational issues.
Provide support to the Technical & Projects Team Lead with the preparation of budgets, study work and company reports as required.

Experience Required:
Extensive experience in planning and delivering projects within the Oil and Gas or Petrochemical industry, ideally with both operator and contractor experience.
Demonstrated experience in effectively managing EPC contractors and 3rd party vendors to deliver a broad portfolio of cross-functional brownfield projects. Prior experience in delivering complex control systems upgrades is desirable.
Experience in managing FEED & Asset-wide obsolescence studies.
Demonstrated experience in systems completion, commissioning & handover to operations.
Experience working with joint venture partners and participating in OCM/TCM meetings.
Technical understanding of industry regulations, codes, standards, guidelines and good practice for the UKCS oil and gas sector.
Sound appreciation of industry technology trends & developments.
Qualifications/Competencies
Required:
Qualified at Degree level in relevant engineering discipline.
Preferred:
Valid offshore survival and medical.
