Role Purpose

Reporting to the Head of Project Delivery, the main purpose of the role is to manage to successful conclusion all Irish and UK renewable projects to which assigned to the point of handing over of the constructed project as a fully operational entity to the Operations function.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage the delivery of multiple projects and associated teams at various stages of construction
  • Develop and manage project capex, opex and budgeting, assisting in the preparation of business cases for major capital investment expenditure and presenting to Senior Management for investment approval
  • Negotiate agreements including electrical and civil construction contracts, turbine supply agreements and engineering services provider agreements etc. ensuring best value is achieved in all such negotiations and tendering activities are completed in line with company policy
  • Manage and influence project team activities ensuring key schedule, financial and technical targets are met.
  • Understand and actively manage the key project interfaces (e.g, wind resource, grid, land, planning as well as external consultants and service providers)
  • Leverage technology advancements and value engineering to optimise project design and drive down Levelised Cost of Energy.
  • Oversight of all site activities and construction to ensure that works are carried out to the highest standards of safety and in accordance with all relevant legislation and Brookfields HSSE Management System.
  • Suitably plan, organise, monitor and report on all phases of projects life cycle.
  • Manage and report on all project risks, ensuring senior management are kept fully abreast of any significant development.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders and represent the company in a professional and competent manner.
  • Liaise with internal company stakeholders as required and ensure all corporate policies are fully adhered too.
  • Ensure that projects are developed to a high standard and de-risked fully in accordance with any requirements to satisfy project financing and investment criteria.
  • Identify potential growth opportunities through industry knowledge and wider network.

Key requirements

  • Masters or University degree in Engineering or Science
  • Minimum 10 years experience and proven track record of successfully managing and delivering large scale renewable projects to budget and schedule.
  • Demonstrable multi-discipline contract management experience.
  • Organisationally astute with strong stakeholder management skillset that foster key internal and external relationships that are key to project success
  • Strong technical skillset across turbine, electrical and civil disciplines with ability to quickly decipher the key technical attributes in negotiating associated supply contracts.
  • Solution driven with ability to manage multiple projects and navigate complexity.
  • Ability to effectively socialise project risks and be proactive in their mitigation
