Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Contract: 3-month initial contract to start
Experience Level: 3–5 years

Position Overview

Orion Group is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Coordinator II (Non-IT) to support Human Resources projects, process documentation, and employee experience initiatives for our pharmaceutical client in Tempe, Arizona.

This is a hands-on HR project coordination role focused on developing clear and user-friendly process materials, supporting employee programs, coordinating HR initiatives, and helping improve consistency across HR processes.

The ideal candidate will bring strong written and verbal communication skills, general HR administrative experience, intermediate Excel capabilities, and the ability to create polished visual materials such as PowerPoint presentations, process maps, SOPs, and instructional guides.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create clear, step-by-step Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for employee self-service stations, including photos, instructions, and visual aids.
  • Develop process maps, workflows, and documentation for various HR processes and initiatives.
  • Support the Employee of the Month program, including coordination, employee communications, and recognition materials.
  • Assist with the rollout and coordination of Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain new hire packets and onboarding materials.
  • Draft and format professional HR communications, presentations, guides, and other materials for employees and internal stakeholders.
  • Partner with HR team members to document existing processes and identify opportunities to improve clarity and consistency.
  • Organize and analyze information using Microsoft Excel, including working with data and PivotTables.
  • Create polished PowerPoint presentations, process maps, visual aids, and training/reference materials.
  • Manage multiple projects and administrative priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive employee and HR information appropriately.
  • Provide additional HR project coordination and administrative support as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in HR coordination, HR administration, project coordination, operations support, or a related area.
  • Strong written communication and documentation skills.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Previous general HR administrative experience.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including experience working with data and PivotTables.
  • Intermediate experience creating professional visual content, including PowerPoint presentations, process maps, SOPs, visual aids, or instructional materials.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow projects through to completion.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and operate with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or similar productivity tools.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive HR and employee information.
  • Ability to work 100% onsite in Tempe, AZ, Monday through Friday.
Preferred Experience
  • Creating SOPs, process maps, workflow documentation, or employee training/reference materials.
  • Supporting employee engagement, recognition, or employee experience programs.
  • Assisting with onboarding and new hire activities.
  • Supporting Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) or similar employee initiatives.
  • Developing internal HR communications and presentations.
  • Previous experience supporting an HR or People Operations team.
Ideal Candidate

The strongest candidate will be someone who combines HR administrative experience with strong project coordination and communication skills. This person should be comfortable taking a process or HR initiative and turning it into clear, polished, easy-to-follow documentation or visual materials.
This role is especially well suited for someone who enjoys organizing information, improving processes, creating employee-facing resources, and supporting multiple HR initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

Interview Process

Candidates selected to move forward can expect a streamlined two-step interview process:
  • Prescreen: 30-minute Microsoft Teams interview with Senior Specialist, BHR
  • Final Interview: 30-minute Microsoft Teams interview with Region BHR Director
