Orion Group Sciences are looking for a Project Associate (Junior) for our multinational pharmaceutical client and can be based in either the Middlesex area or the Cambridgeshire area on an initial 12-month contract with the potential to extend.

Job Purpose

Assist in the development and implementation of business processes, process improvements and associated enabling initiatives across Global Development Operations (GDO). Contribute to the improvement of Center of Process Improvement (CPI) capabilities and effectiveness

Main Responsibilities of the role

  • May lead small projects and/or oversee project sub-teams
  • Provide support to Lead Project Managers by undertaking activities including:
  • Project tracking
    * Action oversight
    * Coordinating status updates & project plan updates
    * Tracking transition status during project roll-out
    * Planning and coordination of project workshops & engagement meetings
    * Preparation of project communication and newsletters
    * Creation and coordination of project SharePoint sites
    * Leveraging company process improvement tools and methodologies

Desired Experience and Background of the successful candidate

  • University degree and 1 year of applicable experience
  • Strong computer literacy, including MS Word, MS PowerPoint & MS Excel
  • Some exposure to project management processes and tools
  • Experience creating / managing SharePoint sites beneficial but not required
  • Familiarity with clinical trial execution processes beneficial but not required
  • Ability to interface effectively with peers and higher levels
  • Ability to navigate through a team or matrix environment
  • Quick learner, proactive, takes initiative
  • Results oriented and goal driven
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to organise, interpret and communicate information effectively
  • Demonstrates willingness to put in extra effort when necessary to pursue tasks to conclusion
