Project Analyst
 
Our client, a North Sea operator  is currently recruiting for the position of Project Analyst based in Aberdeen.  This is a PAYE contract role for approximately 18 months and would suit a recent graduate.
 
It is a great development opportunity for a motivated individual to gain hands-on experience in project management and governance, supporting the drilling project. This role is designed for someone looking to build foundational knowledge and practical skills in project management.
The successful candidate will work with the Project Leader, as an integral part of the Project Team, alongside project stakeholders and vendors, to support readiness and operational activities
  • Skills required include excellent communication skills, project management On-the-job training with exposure to managing a real-world drilling project.
  • Experience working in a large cross function project team.
  • Mentorship and support from experienced professionals within the Project Leadership Team.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Project Leader in managing project governance activities
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, and coordination of development drilling readiness activities
  • Support the management of project risk, cost, opportunities, threats, and change control.
  • Coordinate with drilling, developments, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure alignment on project priorities
  • Manage the administration of progress reporting, presentations, and project updates
  • Arrange governance meetings, capture and distribute actions, and track actions through to completion
  • Champion and support the use of corporate systems and processes, identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Coordinate the Evaluate Phase and End‑of‑Project Close‑Out, including supporting lessons learned and final documentation
 
Development & Learning Objectives:
  • The role holder will receive structured support and coaching to develop capability:
  • Learn about working within a gated project management system.
  • Fundamentals of project control and management (cost, schedule, change, risk and performance).
  • Lifecycle of development drilling projects.
  • Budget, schedule and cost control.
  • Stakeholder management, governance, and project reporting.
  • Familiarisation with software to support the project, including Maximo, P6, Power BI plus others.
 
Qualifications & Experience
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Enthusiastic about learning, and a proactive energy.
  • Keen interest in project management.
  • Ability to plan and run meetings/workshops
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Recently completed or currently pursuing a degree/diploma Business, Project Management, or related discipline.
  • Previous project experience.
  • Experience building Power Bi Dashboards
