Start-up & Transition Manager – LNG Operations

Department: Operations | Section: Production

Reporting to: Production Manager

We are seeking an experienced Start-up & Transition Manager to lead pre- and post-handover activities on a major LNG development. This is a senior operational leadership role requiring extensive LNG start-up and commissioning expertise across Subsea, Inlet, LNG Trains, Utilities, and Storage/Loading facilities.

Service Purpose

You will manage the full start-up and transition phase. Prior to handover, you will verify contractor compliance with contractual obligations and confirm readiness for handover across all plant systems. Following handover, you will lead start-up activities, support performance and lender tests, and provide hands-on technical expertise during early operations.

Key Responsibilities

Before Handover:

  • Develop subsystem start-up sequences
  • Participate in and witness critical commissioning activities
  • Review RFSU dossiers, punch lists, as-built documentation and operating manuals
  • Contribute to start-up procedure development and OTS validation
  • Participate in walkdowns and witness ESD/F&G cause & effect testing
  • Define vendor mobilisation plans for post-handover phase

After Handover:

  • Lead start-up across all production facilities
  • Coordinate vendor mobilisation and reporting
  • Support performance testing and operational troubleshooting
  • Drive process optimisation and continuous improvement
  • Assist with planned shutdown preparation and warranty claim support

HSE Responsibilities

Demonstrate strong HSE leadership, ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and company standards, proactively manage risks, and promote a culture of safety excellence.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Applied Science, Chemical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 15 years’ LNG start-up and operations experience
  • Strong knowledge of PTW systems and HSE management
  • Excellent written and spoken English

This is a high-impact role suited to a technically strong leader with proven LNG start-up delivery experience.
