Job Title: Production Manager (Site)
Reports to: Senior Production Manager & Head of Production & Operations
Location: Onshore Operations
OVERVIEW OF ROLE
Responsible for overseeing the performance of the
spoolbase firing lines – from receipt of the pipe to
exit after field joint coating
All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITY
• The position is given accountability according to the global Authorisation Matrix and Company Code of Business Conduct.
• Mandate in accordance with current regional Approval Matrix.
SPECIFIC KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES
• Develop and maintain the Firing Line Team to ensure that all activities to conform to a specifiedcycle:
• Ensure the team adopts the SQP values and culture of the company and that works routines/cycles areimplemented
• Lead the safety culture on the firing line and ensure all supervisors act accordingly
• Provide leadership and direction to maximise firing line performance
• Ensure that all parties fully briefed on each schedule and targets and cycle times are communicated
• Ensure that all required resources along the firing line are in place on a timely basis for start up and changeover between lines
• Establish a Countdown Checklist for all start ups and change overs which addresses equipment readiness for all parties; consumables for all parties; tooling; procedures and work instructions; task risk assessments; training of personnel if required.
• Contribute to development of production management standards and delivery of improvement programmes in relation to all site firing line activities this will include;
• All processes conducted from pipe receipt through to FJC
• Method statements for conducting all activities –
• bevelling; flapping/ cleaning; movement of pipe to firing line; demagnetising or degaussing pipe ends; pre heating; line up; welding; cooling; stencilling; NDE; Weld repair if required; blast; heat; FBE; coat; cooling
• Lay out of the firing line to achieve maximum efficiency for each pipe specifying and equipping the firing line
• Optimising manning levels
• Manpower training and competence
• Equipment operation and maintenance (all areas)
• Process execution in all areas
• Production planning
• Continuous assessment and analysis of performance
• Minimising production downtime (for any reason)
• Creation and continuous motivation of world class workforce
• Monitor production planning and outputs;
• Ensure timely start up and progress of the work is achieved so that no time is lost due to firing line preparations not being completed on time
• Monitor the status of all activites for project Teams and Sub Contractors and other PPG departments supporting the firing line
• Monitor the outputs of each working shift and compare these against the project targets
• Identify reasons for difference between performance and forecasts and liaise with relevant colleagues to set in place the required corrective action in order to return production to the appropriate target.
• Implement staff development and performance and review activities according to company procedures and guidelines
• Evaluate employee performance against agreed set of objectives and provide feedback on performance assess and discuss development needs and ensure individual training plans are prepared and implemented
• Provide mentorship, coaching and support as required to direct reports implement team building activities
• Support recruitment and orientation activities
