Procurement Specialist JD

As part of the ongoing greenfield project, our client has a requirement for an experienced Procurement Specialist to be based in Baku, Azerbaijan.



  • Coordinate the purchasing of all items and ensures the development of key milestone dates.
  • Monitor the Supplier's purchasing activity to ensure materials are purchased as scheduled and to ensure the timely delivery of component parts to support fabrication and assembly.
  • Obtain scheduled test dates and durations for verification against the Supplier's forecasted ship dates.
  • Monitor the submittal of appropriate shipping documents.
  • Analyze the Supplier's workload and available resources to ensure schedules are met.
  • Report to the Project team when it becomes apparent the Supplier's schedule is in jeopardy. Immediately follow up with the escalation program with purchasing.

What we are looking for:

You will be an experienced Procurement Specialist with demonstrable experience in managing sourcing and contract management activities through post-contract award on various Upstream projects. You will be able to demonstrate experience in the following areas:

  • Knowledge and experience (>10 years) of EPC contracts of > $500M
  • Experience of evaluation of supplier EPC contracts
  • Experience of monitoring supplier purchasing activity
  • Experience of analyzing the Supplier's workload and available resources to ensure schedules are met.
  • Experience of EPC post-award contract management in a very fast-moving and growing operating company.
  • Degree qualified in Engineering or equivalent
  • Managed multiple Operational sites
  • Analytical, proven problem solver
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
  • Stakeholder management with external bodies including government and regulatory bodies
  • Ability to work with a number of other technical and non-technical internal groups
  • Performance management of the team including developing national staff into senior roles
  • Strong and proven business acumen in commercial, contracts and financial
