Procurement Specialist – Operations & Production Category (Iraq Project) Location: Sunbury, UK (Hybrid: 3 days in office / 2 days remote)

About the Role An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Procurement Specialist to support major oil and gas operations in Iraq. This role focuses on delivering procurement excellence across the Operations and Production categories, managing contracts and supplier relationships covering maintenance, operations engineering, construction, production, and MRO activities.
Reporting to the Operations & Production Category Delivery Manager, you will act as a key procurement business partner—working closely with technical, legal, finance, HSE, and operations teams to ensure compliant, efficient, and value-driven procurement delivery. The position requires occasional travel to Iraq.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing, contracting, and supplier management for the Operations & Production categories.
- Support the development and execution of category strategies that align with project priorities and local regulations.
- Manage supplier performance, risk mitigation, and contract compliance throughout the full lifecycle.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams and key suppliers to drive innovation, efficiency, and value.
- Ensure local content obligations and safety standards are embedded in all procurement activities.
- A degree in Procurement, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline (CIPS or equivalent preferred).
- 5+ years’ experience in procurement, contracting, or supply chain management.
- Strong commercial, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex contracts and build strong stakeholder relationships.
- Experience working in or supporting Iraq-based operations (advantageous).
