Process Safety Manager – Remote/UK based

Exciting opportunity to join a leading LPG supplier, playing a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of gas for commercial and domestic use. The PSM will lead the Process Safety function across multiple sites, providing expertise, driving continuous improvement, and offering strategic leadership to ensure compliance with all regulatory frameworks and the company’s Process Safety Policy.
This is a permanent staff role with flexible remote working, and the successful candidate will spend time at multiple sites across the UK.
 
The Role:
  • Lead the Process Safety team so that they meet their objectives regarding regulatory compliance, OHPS policy and business goals.
  • Coordinate hazard review and risk assessment programs (PHA, human factors, occupied building risk assessments) to ensure hazards are identified and managed competently and on time.
  • Maintain the process safety risk register to ensure hazards are controlled, layers of protection are effective, and risks are monitored.
  • Lead and oversee hazard studies and investigations (HAZOPs, LOPAs, SIL assessments, HF studies) to identify and manage on-site hazards, including accident investigations.
  • Monitor and report process safety performance indicators (PSPIs) and ensure emergency preparedness and compliance with COMAH, SHVE, and regulatory requirements.
 
Required Experience:
  • Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Production Engineering
  • Chartered Engineer (ideally IChemE)
  • Extensive hazard study leadership experience, including HAZOP, PHR, PHA, SWIFT, HTA/HEA, OBRA, LOPA, and SIL studies
  • Certified Process Safety Auditor (CPSA) or equivalent (e.g., OSHA 3132 PSM, CCPS Certified Process Safety Professional)
  • Advanced risk assessment expertise: LOPA, PHA, FMEA, HAZID, HAZOP
  • Experience leading and managing small teams
