Are you an experienced Process Safety Engineer looking for a challenging international assignment where you can make a genuine impact on operational safety and asset integrity?
We are currently recruiting two Senior Process Safety Engineers to join a major upstream oil & gas operation in Algeria on a 28 days on / 28 days off rotational basis. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role within a multinational joint venture environment, supporting safe and efficient operations while driving continuous improvement in process safety and technical integrity performance.
Working within the Operations team, you will act as a specialist advisor on process safety matters, collaborating closely with Engineering Authorities, operations personnel and shareholder representatives to ensure compliance with industry best practices, integrity management requirements and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide process safety leadership and assurance across operational facilities.
- Develop, implement and maintain process safety and technical integrity strategies, standards and procedures.
- Establish and monitor key process safety KPIs and performance measures.
- Lead and participate in engineering risk management reviews and studies.
- Ensure process safety documentation remains current and aligned with operational requirements.
- Support Management of Change (MOC) activities, facility modifications and project design reviews.
- Contribute to incident investigations, emergency response planning and operational risk assessments.
- Interface with shareholder organisations and industry networks to promote best practice and lessons learned.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and operations personnel in process safety principles and application.
Technical Expertise Required
Successful candidates will have proven experience leading and facilitating process safety and risk management activities, including:
- HAZID
- HAZOP
- QRA
- LOPA
- SIL Assessments / SIS
- Major Accident Risk (MAR) Studies
- Fire & Blast Risk Management
- Hazardous Area Classification
- Technical Integrity Management
- Process Safety Audits
- PSSR
- Operational Risk Assessment
- Process Simulation and Modelling Tools such as HYSYS, Cirrus, Flarenet or similar
- Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline or equivalent relevant qualification.
- Significant process safety engineering experience within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong understanding of engineering risk management and process safety methodologies.
- Experience supporting operating assets within a technical integrity management framework.
- Demonstrated HSE leadership and commitment to safe operations.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High level of computer literacy and familiarity with relevant engineering software.
- Fluent English language skills are essential.
- French and/or Arabic language capability would be advantageous.
