We have a current opportunity for a Process Automation Technician on a permanent basis. The position will be based in the North West of Washington State, with a leading renewables manufacturing company.


Job Title: Process Automation Technician

Pay: $30–$40/hour DOE


Position Summary

The Process Automation Technician ensures optimal equipment performance by monitoring and adjusting process recipes and parameters, supporting production quality, troubleshooting issues, and leading improvement initiatives. This role blends preventative maintenance with data-driven process control to maintain high production standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and audit equipment process parameters daily.
  • Support production by ensuring equipment integrity and uptime.
  • Collaborate with Quality to evaluate data and adjust processes for optimization.
  • Perform routine checks, cleaning, and basic maintenance per standard procedures.
  • Identify process deviations using SPC and take corrective action via OCAPs.
  • Document processes and update Standard Work Instructions (SWIs).
  • Lead improvement initiatives using tools like VSM, A3, Apollo, and PK processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment or process issues.
  • Conduct DOE and other statistical tests to optimize recipes and outputs.
  • Train other team members and update training documentation as needed.
  • Promote and uphold equipment safety standards.



Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and analytical aptitude
  • Effective communicator and team collaborator
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing small projects
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts



Education & Experience

  • Associate or bachelor's degree (or in progress) in STEM or technical field (e.g., Electronics, Engineering Technology)
  • Minimum 6 months of hands-on technical experience



Preferred

  • 2+ years in a semi/full-automated manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, pneumatics, hydraulics, VFDs, vision systems, and chemical processes
