Planning Engineer
Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Planning Engineer based in Aberdeen. This is a 12 month contract role and hybrid working is available (3 days from the office/2 days from home.
Responsible for preparing and maintaining (integrated) schedules for all designated scope-elements and/or phases of a tender or project. All activities will be performed in accordance with Company's Corporate Management System.
Reports to DH Engineering, DH Project Controls or DH Operations Delivery Management.
Additionally, authority and responsibilities as indicated in the Company Corporate Management System apply.
Core Responsibilities:
Understand relevant asset plan or project plan objectives, contract requirements, specific client- and CMS requirements.
Set up, revise, optimise and keep up-to-date (integrated) schedules, (coding) structures and procedures.
Ensure all input to the plan is provided in a timely manner.
Monitor progress, critical path and forecast.
Analyse, advise and escalate consequences of deficiencies, (potential) risks, changes and opportunities.
Ensure effective interfaces with relevant internal and external stakeholders to address and resolve issues.
Inform Asset, Tender or Project team timely on significant deviations, and propose corrective actions.
Ensure optimum timely (re-)planning.
Ensure timely and complete reporting (internally-externally).
Keep the planning database system and schedules up-to-date and fit-for-purpose.
Prepare, advice and monitor close out and contribute to handling of claims.
Ensure third party schedules are integrated in the overall plan.
Ensure that lessons learned are integrated in daily practice and/ or are formulated in recommendations for improvements.
Tenders & Project Specific:
Execute and report probabilistic Schedule Risk Analyses.
Review of 3rd Party Schedules and Progress Reporting.
Additional Core Responsibilities for Senior Planning Engineer:
Coach more junior Planning Engineers.
Liaise with Project Manager on Execution Strategy.
Act as Lead Planner on Projects that require more than a single Planning Engineer.
Operations Specific:
Inform required POB on their mobilisation date and time.
Provide input for asset business or asset lifetime plans.
Fluent in English both written and spoken.
Willingness to perform activities abroad (onshore, offshore, construction sites or with clients).
