We’re currently supporting our client with the appointment of a Planning Engineer on a contract basis in Glasgow, working across a portfolio of high-profile oil and gas projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planner to contribute to complex, fast-paced project environments, with a flexible 3/2 hybrid working arrangement (3 days in the office, 2 days working from home).
Job Purpose
Responsible for delivering well-resourced, robust baseline project schedules, while working closely with project teams to develop schedules and reporting outputs that support successful project delivery.
Main Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and produce project plans and associated documentation, including reporting outputs (e.g. S-curves, histograms, and tabulated resource/progress data)
  • Ensure all services and deliverables align with company, client, and project requirements
  • Foster strong working relationships with the planning team, wider project departments, and client representatives
  • Promote company values and support the delivery of project health, safety, environmental, quality, and ethical standards, including adherence to relevant systems, policies, and procedures
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project planning and costing processes to meet our client’s business requirements
  • Support priority management activities, including the use of Kanban methodologies
  • Contribute to building capability across the business in the use of EVA/EVM systems, tools, and reporting
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
  • Previous planning experience, ideally with responsibility for large-scale projects or significant work packages within major projects
  • Proficient in Primavera P6
  • Strong IT skills, including experience with Microsoft Project and Excel or Google Sheets
