We're seeking a dedicatedMechanical or Piping Engineer to join our team, responsible for researching, specifying, developing, designing, engineering, and testing critical components, equipment, and systems. You'll apply your advanced knowledge of engineering principles to diverse project assignments, contributing to groundbreaking initiatives in the Alaskan energy landscape.
This role is primarily based in our Anchorage, Alaska offices, with hybrid remote-office arrangements considered. We also offer a rotational work type, providing flexibility for the right candidate.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree inMechanical or Piping Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution is required.
Certifications/Licenses: Engineer in Training certificate (EIT) or passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam is preferred. PE/SE license is strongly desired.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with or education in engineering for cold regions or Arctic conditions.
Alaska North Slope Oil and Gas industry experience. Offshore Structures, Telecom Infrastructures, and/or Fire Protection project experience.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and current versions of AutoCAD design software.
Experience with Advanced Steel is preferred.
Core Competencies: Strong analytical, design, problem-solving, and technical skills.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication abilities, with a demonstrated commitment to teamwork and strategic thinking.

What You'll Do:
As a Mechanical or Piping Engineer, you will be instrumental in all phases of our projects, from initial concept to completion.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Research & Analysis: Researching and analyzing data such as client design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine design or application feasibility.
- Client Collaboration: Working closely with clients to develop project scopes of work, estimates, and schedules.
- Design & Development: Reviewing and approving project drawings, standards, and specifications, as well as developing major equipment and material selection and construction specifications.
- Technical Expertise: Utilizing computer-assisted engineering and design software (including AutoCAD and Advanced Steel) to perform engineering tasks and ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and laws.
- Project Support: Providing crucial support during fabrication and installation phases to ensure engineering documents are meticulously followed.
- Interdisciplinary Coordination: Coordinating activities with other project disciplines involved in fabrication, operation, application, and installation or repair of various materials, products, or systems.
- Mentorship & Guidance: Offering technical direction, support, and information to other engineers, designers, and drafters.
- Problem Solving: Analyzing reports, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs to plan and design projects, calculate costs, and determine project feasibility. You will also prepare or direct the preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and designs.
- Quality Assurance: Inspecting construction sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Consistently demonstrating professional skills in structuring assigned activities, creativity, teamwork, communications, operational efficiencies, handling of a client’s changing needs, decision making, and analyzing and solving problems.
- Arctic Expertise (Senior Individuals):More senior individuals will have engineering experience including arctic civil/structural design and application of IBC, AWS, ASCE, AISC, and national fire codes.
