Job Title: Pipe Facer (Site)

Reports to: Senior Pipe Facer (Site)

Location: Worldwide Onshore & Offshore


OVERVIEW OF ROLE

Responsible for operation of PFM equipment and preparation of pipe-ends to project specification on work sites both on and offshore as required.

All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.

SPECIFIC KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES

• Under supervision of the Senior Pipe Facer prepare and configure the PFM equipment and set up tooling in accordance to project specification
• Prepare pipe-end bevels for production when required.
• Monitor equipment during operation to ensure that specifications are being met
• Inspect completed bevel against project specifications.
• Monitor equipment performance.
• Check tooling and replace as required.
• Clean and maintain equipment.
• Feedback lessons learned to Senior Pipe Facer.
• Carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by the Senior Pipe Facer.
• Use of Plasma and Burning Equipment.
• Use of Bandsaw for cutting pipe coupons etc.
• Use of External Clamshell type machines.

• Abrasive Wheels
• Overhead Crane (NPORS)

PERSON SPECIFICATION

• Experience of pipe facing operations and knowledge of pipe facing machines would be preferred.
• Mechanical or a machining background would be preferred.
• Experience of using abrasive equipment would be preferred.
• Communicates effectively and articulately would be preferred.
• Demonstrates a positive attitude and flexibility in work approach.
• Works well independently, shows good initiative, demonstrates good decision-making skills and responses proactively to problems/issues.
• Works effectively as part of a team.
