Job title: Permitting Engineer

Job dimensions

The job holder will provide the permitting and regulatory support for project activities on all stages of the project execution, including but not limited to support coordinating land and seabed allocations and construction permits, interfaces with other disciplines and private and public entities and contractors to obtain required permits and approvals.

Activities

The job holder must perform all duties in line with Company procedures including:
• Support Permitting Lead in executing permitting and regulatory requirements for Absheron FFD in line with the Project Permitting Plan and Roadmap
• Support coordinating land and seabed allocation process with SOCAR and provide necessary support to facilitate the process
• Coordinate activities between EPSCC and SURF contractors from one side and Permitting contractors on the other to ensure detailed design of the documentation required for construction permits transmitted to the Permitting contractor
• Liaison with State bodies to follow up responses and approvals for project activities
• Draft correspondence for the internal reviews
• Register and log the incoming and outgoing correspondence
• Maintain electronic database of Project permitting documentation

Authority to suspend activities when there is a potential or actual threat to human life, the installation or the environment, and notify forthwith the responsible supervisor.

Context and environment

The Absheron Conventional Gas & Condensates field is located offshore Azerbaijan Republic in the Caspian Sea in 500 meters depth, at about 100km southeast of Baku, 25km north-east of Shah Deniz field and 34km south of Oil Rocks production and processing facilities. The project aims at supplying natural gas for both domestic market via Sangachal main facilities (condensate) and for international export market via the South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP).
Accountabilities

The job holders must possess experience in permitting and bland acquisition and contracting expertise.

• Shall maintain an accurate Stakeholder Register and Permit Matrix and ensure timely progress of all required permits, consents and third party approvals.
• Shall maintain Project correspondence register.
• Shall follow approval of letters and permitting documentation by the internal reviewers and external counterparties.

Qualifications/Experience required

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in law or related fields.

Minimum Experience: 5 years’ experience in the Oil&Gas Industry, experience working with EPCI contractors.
